    Program Chair Christina Y. Weng, MD, MBA, FASRS, is joined by John B. Miller, MD, for the second video in a new series highlighting surgical fundamentals.

    Drs. Weng and Miller focus on macular hole repair and internal limiting membrane peeling, discussing step-by-step methods for this oftentimes anxiety-producing procedure, especially for newer surgeons.

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Demonstrate proficiency in the choice and administration of tamponading agents and procedures as well as the mitigation of potential complications
    • Appraise the appropriateness of small-gauge surgery on a case-by-case basis, considering case complexity, potential benefits, surgical efficiency, and postoperative recovery
    • Modify fluidics control to effectively troubleshoot and navigate the diverse challenges encountered during vitreoretinal surgery
    • Select instrumentation and implement best practices for intraoperative surgical maneuvers that improve surgical efficiency and optimize outcomes
