    This roundtable webcast is designed to help clinicians better understand the DSM-5 “with mixed features” specifier, as well as its importance in selecting an appropriate treatment regimen for patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).

  • Target Audience

    This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of health care professionals involved in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with major depressive disorder.

  • Educational Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, participants will be better able to do the following:

    • Review DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for the mixed features specifier of MDD.
    • Discuss the use of rating scales that may aid in the identification of MDD with mixed features and differentiation from bipolar disorder.
    • Examine the potential risk of treatment-emergent mania with the use of antidepressants in patients with MDD with mixed features.
    • Design and implement an evidence-based medication treatment regimen for a patient with MDD with mixed features.
