  • Overview

    There are a number of variables to consider when adding in-office minimally invasive surgery to a physician’s practice.  This activity will discuss the benefits for both patient and physician in-office surgeries versus hospital-based, how to obtain the needed clinical training and hysteroscopic case experience, staffing and facility needs, and considerations and approaches to marketing and cultivating a patient-base.

    1. Describe the benefits of offering office-based MIS procedures to the physician’s practice, as well as their patients, and how best to initiate this endeavor in their medical practice.
    2. Formulate the path to obtaining the needed clinical training and case experience, especially as related to ensuring good patient outcomes, safety, and comfort.   
    3. Identify staffing and facility needs when building an MIS practice, including how to accrue a patient base and market and network your MIS specialty.
