  • Overview

    Patients with cystic fibrosis and their families are at a higher risk for mental health issues which have been associated with other complications. In this activity, Ms. McElroy Barker will discuss how the CF community recognized the need for mental health services and the guidelines the CF Foundation recommends for screening patients.

  • Learning Objectives

    After participating in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

    1. Describe the history of mental health concerns in the cystic fibrosis (CF) community and the origin of the current mental health guidelines.
    2. Discuss the guidelines established by CF Foundation (CFF) and their specific recommendations.
    3. Describe the way services will be provided to CF patients and their families, as well as some of the challenges CFF Accredited Care Centers face in providing those services.
