    This Expert Exchange webcast is designed to improve clinicians’ ability to define, identify and assess agitation in Alzheimer’s dementia.

  • Target Audience

    This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of primary care clinicians and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Educational Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, participants will be better able to do the following:

    • Summarize the impact of agitation on individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, their care partners, clinicians and the healthcare system.
    • Define agitation based on criteria established by the International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA) Agitation Definition Working Group (ADWG).
    • Describe an approach to the identification, diagnosis and ongoing assessment of neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia.
    • Identify validated neuropsychiatric assessment tools for use within primary care.
