Pulmonary Hypertension: Challenging and Unusual Cases

Overview
This series of case presentations branches out from the usual idiopathic Group 1 patient types and explores more unusual and challenging cases. The series looks at adult congenital heart disease-associated PH, uncommon PH associated with non-scleroderma connective disease, combined pre-and post-capillary PH and other patient types. Viewers will gain insights into the identification, diagnosis and treatment options available for each of the unusual cases included in the series.
Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, registered nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with pulmonary hypertension.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:
1. Discuss sub-populations of patients who are “at high risk” and identify appropriate screening candidates
2. Identify key subgroups with a high risk of pulmonary hypertension
3. Understand the diagnostic process and implement guideline-based treatment recommendations for patients within PH subgroups
