Young-Shin Kim, MD, PhD, MPH, MS
Young-Shin Kim, MD, PhD, MPH, MS

    Dr. Young-Shin Kim is an assistant professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine. She is also an associate professor in the department of psychiatry at Hallym University College of Medicine in South Korea, where she also served as director of the department of psychiatry from 1999 to 2005.

    She currently serves as a member of the Policy Statement Advisory Committee, the Program Committee, and the International Relations Committee for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has also received numerous awards, including a research honor from the Children's Brain Research Foundation for her work on the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder in Korean school-aged children.

    Dr. Kim graduated with her medical degree in 1988 from Yonsei University College of Medicine in South Korea, where she also completed her internship and general psychiatry residency, and went on to complete her master's in medical science, with a major in psychiatry, in 1993. She then received her master's in public health in 1998 from the Yale School of Public Health, and she earned her doctor of philosophy in epidemiology in 2005 at the University of California, Berkley School of Public Health.
