Tim Walbert is president, chief executive officer and a board of director at Horizon Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company based in Skokie, Ill. He also recently held the position of president and CEO at IDM Pharma, a biotech company he joined in 2007. Previously, Mr. Walbert served at Abbott Laboratories as divisional vice president and general manager of Immunology and divisional vice president of Global Cardiovascular Marketing and was key to the launch of the blockbuster rheumatoid arthritis drug Humira, which now generates more than $3 billion in worldwide sales for Abbott. Prior to Abbott, Walbert served as director, Celebrex North America and Arthritis Team Leader, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Canada at Searle/Pharmacia, which has since become a part of Pfizer Inc., which generates more than $2 billion in annual sales from the popular Cox-2 inhibitor arthritis pill.
