Tom DeLoughery is a native Hoosier who graduated from Indiana State University in 1981 (one year after Larry Bird) and the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1985. He did his internship at the University of California-Irvine before traveling to Oregon where he finished his Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
He is currently a Professor of Medicine, Pathology, and Pediatrics in the Divisions of Hematology/Oncology and Laboratory Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). His clinical interest are in Hemostasis and Thrombosis, subjects he has written on extensively.
He has won numerous teaching awards at OHSU and has given educational sessions at the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Rheumatology, American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and the Society for Critical Care Medicine. In 2001 he was one of the two hematologists asked to lecture by the NIH in Vietnam. He also has an interest in the hematologic aspects of Sport and Travel and is on the Board of Directors plus is Chairman of the Research committee of the Wilderness Medicine Society.
