Teresa Pangan, PhD, RDN is a sought after professional speaker, culinary and nutrition educator, entrepreneur and registered dietitian focusing on empowering people to eat food that is both delicious and supports the health they want. She gives keynote presentations to the public, health professionals and worksite groups empowering them with the straight facts on the connection between food and health. Teresa also has a private practice www.PowerPackedEating.com where she helps clients feel years to decades younger by application of cutting edge evidence-based eating lifestyle practices. She created and currently leads a community cooking series for UnityPoint Health Trinity called “Cooking with Heart”. It is a six-part live cooking demo series where people gain confidence in the kitchen in putting together delicious meals that are quick and easy and just happen to be healthy too. Teresa regularly appears on media outlets illustrating how eating healthy doesn’t have to be hard and debunks the latest nutrition myth. Teresa utilizes her entrepreneurial skills as Senior Vice President of Operations for SalusWell, a unique collaborative lifestyle medicine management portal for preventative lifestyle care and chronic disease management. This online venture will launch in summer 2020. Heart disease hits close to home for Teresa. Her dad passed away a little over a year ago with heart disease. She is on a mission to prevent the number one killer in the U.S. Each day nearly 3,000 deaths occur from heart disease or stroke. This is preventable and reversible with lifestyle. Teresa engages audiences with new ways to think about eating and food and what they can do to become a savvy health consumer. Teresa received her doctoral degree in nutrition from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. She completed two Bachelor of Science degrees from Iowa State University. Teresa also is certified in Tiny Habits from BJ Fogg focused on building new habits for better health. Teresa enjoys unwinding with a glass of red wine, writing in her gratitude journal, and experimenting with new recipes.
