Tanguy Seiwert, MD

    Tanguy Seiwert, MD, is the associate director of the Head and Neck Cancer Program at the University of Chicago, United States, Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Hematology and Oncology, and fellow of the Institute of Genomics and Systems Biology. In addition to his work at the University of Chicago, he is also a member of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) task force on immunotherapy for head and neck cancer.

    Dr. Seiwert earned his MD in 1999, from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. He did his residency at Duke University, followed by oncology fellowship training, and a research fellowship at the University of Chicago, where he joined the faculty in 2007. Dr. Seiwert has won numerous awards, including a CALGB Research Award in 20015, an International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) fellowship award in 2007, as well as an American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Young Investigator Award in 2006.

    Over his career, Dr. Seiwert has published over 60 articles, with a focus on head and neck cancer, lung cancer, and thyroid cancer. Dr. Seiwert specializes in genomic profiling of cancer tissues, next generation sequencing, immunotherapy, as well as the development of immune related signatures and biomarkers.
