Dr. O’Keefe trained at London University, England, both in Medicine (Guy’s Hospital MBBS, MD) and Human Nutrition (MSc). He completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in Oxford and London before undertaking a Fellowship in Nutrition at Harvard and MIT. His academic career has focused on clinical practice and research in nutritional gastroenterology both in the developed (UK, USA) and undeveloped world (South Africa). He is presently Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
