Stacy Tessler Lindau, MD

    Dr. Stacy Tessler Lindau is an assistant professor in the departments of Ob/Gyn and geriatrics and the University of Chicago Cancer Research Center. She is core faculty at the MacLean Center on Clinical Medical Ethics and an associate of the department of health studies.

    Dr. Lindau earned her MD at Brown University and also has a master's degree in public policy from the University of Chicago. Her research aims to decipher biological mechanisms through which social processes and relationships affect health and illness throughout the female lifecourse. In addition, her work addresses policy and educational issues of relevance to women's health. She is Co-Principal Investigator of the National Social Life, Health and Aging Project, the nation's first study of social relationships, sexuality and health at older ages and is Director of the University of Chicago Center on Aging Core on Biomarkers in Population-Based Health and Aging Research. Dr. Lindau's focus is to advance knowledge about and advocacy for the health of aging women, particularly as women transition to and grow in the post-reproductive phase of their lives.
