Dr. Sami Bahna is professor of pediatrics and medicine, chief of allergy and immunology, and director of the allergy and immunology training program at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is certified by the American Boards of Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology.

Dr. Bahna is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), American Academy of Allergy Asthma, and Immunology (AAAI), the Society for Pediatric Radiology, and the American Association of University Professors. Additionally, Dr. Bahna served as member or chairman on numerous national committees and an officer in professional organizations, including the AAP, AAAAI, ACAAI and the Joint Council of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Dr. Bahna has served on the editorial boards of the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, where he is currently the associate editor, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Pediatrics, and Allergy and Asthma Proceedings. Dr. Bahna has received several honors and awards, including the ACAAI's Clemens von Pirquet Award, Bela Schick Memorial Lecture, Bernard Berman Memorial Lecture, International Distinguished Fellow, Distinguished Fellow, John McGovern Lecture, and Distinguished Service Award. He also received the 2005 Humanism in Medicine Award. He has more than 250 publications on allergy, asthma & immunology, and is frequently invited to speak at major national and international meetings.
