Dr. Pies is Professor of Psychiatry and Lecturer on Bioethics and Humanities at S.U.N.Y. Upstate Medical University in Syracuse NY. He is also Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, and Editor-in-Chief of the Psychiatric Times. He is the author of several books ranging from psychopharmacology to poetry to philosophy.
