Ronald Hall II, PharmD

    Dr. Ronald Hall II is an assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy. He was selected in 2006 by National Institutes of Health (NIH) to be one of 14 Clinical Research Scholars. This three-year program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is designed to help the NIH cultivate independent clinical researchers who are capable of becoming the next generation of leaders in patient-oriented research.

    Dr. Hall earned his doctor of pharmacy degree from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2000. His primary research focus is evaluating pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of pharmaceutical agents in obesity. He is also interested in factors potentially affecting clinical outcomes of patients with infectious diseases. He has authored several publications in Infectious Diseases and presented his work at state, national and international pharmacy and infectious diseases meetings.

    Dr. Hall's clinical practice is based at the Dallas VA Medical Center, where he is an infectious diseases clinical pharmacy specialist. He is a member of the infectious diseases consult service and serves as a consultant to the Infection Control and Formulary committees.

    Dr. Hall has served many professional organizations including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society for Microbiology, and Infectious Diseases Society of America.  He serves as chair of the internet committee for the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists, as well as participating as part of the newsletter and strategic planning committees. He serves as a reviewer for several professional journals, including Clinical Infectious Diseases.
