Raphael J. Landovitz, MD, is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and Associate Director of the UCLA Center for Clinical AIDS Research & Education (CARE).
Dr. Landovitz’s research focuses on the optimization of the use of antiretroviral medications for both HIV treatment and HIV prevention. He has led combination prevention intervention studies and projects using post- and pre-exposure strategies for men who have sex with men, transgender women, and cisgender women, and has been part of leadership groups of the DAIDS-funded AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN), and the NICHD-funded Adolescent Trials Network (ATN).
He completed his educational training at Princeton University, Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Landovitz was awarded the John Carey Young Investigator Award by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) in 2010.
