Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington School of Medicine, Management Sciences for Health
Dr. Nassim Assefi received her BA from Wellesley College in Massachusetts in 1991, and received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. She is a board-certified internist specializing in women’s health and global medicine. In 2003, she left Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, to work on public health issues in Afghanistan with Management Sciences for Health, a private nonprofit international organization. A second generation Iranian-American, Dr. Assefi now lives in Turkey. Her first novel, Aria, was published in 2007 by Harcourt.
