Dr. Michael Steinman is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California-San Francisco and the San Francisco VA Medical Center. Dr. Steinman's research focuses on evaluating and improving prescribing quality in clinically complex elders. He also has a strong research interest in interactions between physicians and the pharmaceutical industry. He has published over 35 peer-reviewed research papers in JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, and other leading journals, and holds grants from the VA Health Services Research and Development Service and from the National Institute on Aging and the American Federation for Aging Research. In addition to his research, Dr. Steinman maintains an active geriatrics practice at the San Francisco VA Medical Center
