Mark H. Einstein, MD, MS, FACOG, FACS
I am an internationally renowned expert in Gynecologic Oncology, particularly for my clinical and research focus in gynecologic cancers, including cervical cancer and Human Papillomavirus (HPV), at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey at University Hospital. I manage complicated gynecologic malignancies, and surgery and reconstruction for complex gynecologic cancers and conditions with a particular focus on state-of-the-art strategies in women whose therapies have failed. My primary research focuses is in providing novel therapies to women with recurrent gynecologic malignancies. I am passionate about finding therapies that work for aggressive gynecologic malignancies. At Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, I serve as Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics, and Assistant Dean of the Clinical Research Unit. I have been funded for many efforts identifying unique, potentially druggable, targets and biomarkers for clinical risk of malignant transformation. I have developed and have been leading numerous multi-institutional clinical trials in gynecologic cancers and targeting HPV and cervical cancer, as well as cancer prevention. I have served in a leadership role for national and international cancer groups including the American Cancer Society, the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, the National Institutes of Health, and the ASCCP (which develops clinical algorithms for cervical cancer prevention). I have served as a consultant to the World Health Organization. Clinical Expertise: Cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, human papillomavirus, and clinical trials
