Dr. Marc H. Hedrick has been president of Cytori Therapeutics, Inc., since May 2004, after joining the San Diego-based company in October 2002 as chief scientific officer, medical director and director. Before his work at Cytori, Dr. Hedrick was co-founder, president and CEO of StemSource, Inc., a company specializing in adipose tissue-derived stem- and regenerative-cell research and development. Dr. Hedrick is a plastic surgeon and a former associate professor of surgery and pediatrics at the University of California, Los Angeles. From 1998 to 2005, Dr. Hedrick directed the Laboratory of Regenerative Bioengineering and Repair in the department of surgery at UCLA. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.
