Leslie P. Lundt, MD

    Dr. Leslie P. Lundt is director of the Foothills Foundation and a psychiatrist in private practice for children, adolescents, and adults, both located in Boise, Idaho. In addition, she is an affiliate faculty member at Idaho State University. Dr. Lundt earned her BA in natural sciences at Johns Hopkins University, and her MD at Rush Medical College in Chicago. After graduating, she completed her residency in psychiatry at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco, where she was designated chief resident. She also completed postdoctoral training in addiction medicine at the Haight Ashbury Clinic in San Francisco.

    A sought-after speaker, Dr. Lundt has delivered local, regional, national, and international lectures and workshops concerning insomnia, new understandings in sleep science, the psychopharmacology of addiction, and psychiatric medications, among others. Her professional interests include women’s mental health, the psychopharmacology of sleep and wakefulness, and addiction psychiatry. She has been principal investigator for many research projects in her field. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. Dr. Lundt is co-founder, admissions director, and curriculum director of a school for gifted children. She is the author of Think Like a Psychiatrist: Understanding Psychiatric Medicines and Think Like a Psychiatrist: 40 Cases.
