Dr. Les Paul is the National Pharmaceutical Council's vice president of clinical and scientific affairs, responsible for coordinating the Council's focus on evidence-based medicine for healthcare decision-making. A board certified pulmonologist and internist, Dr. Paul has more than 25 years of healthcare experience. Prior to joining the Council, he was vice president for U.S. Medical Affairs at Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp. From 2004 though 2007, he was vice president for Medical Affairs at AstraZeneca. His background also includes work as vice President for medical policy and programs at Medco Health Solutions. Dr. Paul holds a master's degree in health administration from the University of Wisconsin and an MD from the University of Illinois.
