Dr. Joseph D. Ma is assistant professor of clinical pharmacy at the University of California San Diego School of Pharmacy and Phamaceutical Sciences.

Dr. Ma received his pharmacy doctorate from the University of California, San Francisco. He then completed a 2-year post doctoral fellowship in clinical pharmacology/drug metabolism at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, NY under the mentorship of Joseph S. Bertino, Jr. PharmD, FCP and Anne N. Nafziger, MD, PhD.

Dr. Ma joined the faculty in 2007 and serves as co-chair for the winter quarter therapeutics course. He also lectures several hours in the oncology section for therapeutics. In addition, he will be implementing an early phase clinical trial team that will assist in the development and management of phase I clinical trials in oncology at the Moores Cancer Center. Dr. Ma's current research interests are in examining inter- and intra-individual pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic variability in special populations.
