Dr. Jonathan A. Leighton is professor of medicine and chair of the division of gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
Dr. Leighton received his MD degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, and completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Leighton is an active member of, the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
His research interests are in the areas of small bowel imaging including capsule endoscopy and balloon-assisted enteroscopy, as well as inflammatory bowel disease, obscure gastrointestinal bleeding and colorectal neoplasia.
