Jonathan Fridell, MD
Jonathan Fridell, MD

    Dr. Jonathan Fridell is surgical director of the pancreas transplant program at Indiana University Health.

    Born in Canada, Dr. Fridell did his undergraduate study at Marianopolis College in Montreal, and then completed a one year medical preparatory study before earning his medical degree from McGill University, also in Montreal. Dr. Fridell did his surgical internship along with his general surgical senior and chief residency at McGill University. In July 2000, Dr. Fridell began his abdominal transplant fellowship at Thomas E. Starlz Transplant Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and completed the program in 2002.

    Dr. Fridell is board certified in general surgery through the American Board of Surgery and The Quebec Board of Surgery. He is also board certified with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

    Dr. Fridell is a member of many organizations, including the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the International Liver Transplant Society, the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease and the American Society of Transplantation. He also serves on many Indiana University Medical Center Transplant Committees.

    Dr. Fridell has presented numerous lectures to fellow colleagues and has published extensive journal articles.
