Jeffrey Levine, MD, CMD
Jeffrey Levine, MD, CMD

    Dr. Jeffrey Levine is a practicing physician in New York City. He has a hospital-based wound care practice and is on the teaching staff St. Vincent's Hospital in New York, New York. Dr. Levine is also clinical associate professor of medicine at New York Medical College, and clinical assistant professor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. He is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, is a certified medical director and certified wound-care specialist.

    Dr. Levine received his doctor of medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey. He went on to complete an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University Hospital. Dr. Levine then completed a felllowship in the department of geriatrics and adult development at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.

    He is past-president of the Metropolitan Area Geriatrics Society, an educational resource for geriatric caregivers in the tri-state area. Dr. Levine's articles have appeared in many medical journals, and his writing covers topics including quality improvement, pressure ulcers, falls and accidents, physical restraints, bedrails, fire safety, and risk-management.

    Dr. Levine was co-author of the recently released Clinical Practice Guideline on Pressure Ulcers, published by the American Medical Directors Association. He also designed and delivered a training program for pressure ulcers that was delivered to hundreds of nurses employed by nonprofit hospitals and nursing homes throughout the New York City area.
