Glenn Eisen, MD, MPH
Glenn Eisen, MD, MPH

    Dr. Glenn M. Eisen is a professor in the department of medicine and the division of gastroenterology at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. In addition, he is director of endoscopy and  the co-director of the Clinical Outcomes Research Initiative (CORI), a national endoscopic database funded by the NIH.

    Dr. Eisen earned his BA in biopsychology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and his MD at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. His internship, residency and chief residency were conducted at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. His fellowship in gastroenterology was completed at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina and he completed a masters degree in public health/epidemiology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

    Dr. Eisen is the editor of the journal Evidence Based Gastroenterology and an associate editor of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is active in the ASGE (American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) has been the past chair of the standards of practice committee as well as previously serving on its governing board. He is currently on the quality committee. He is the chair of the imaging and technology committee for the AGA.  His research interests include gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett's esophagus, NSAID effects on the GI tract, colorectal cancer screening and capsule endoscopy. He has authored over 85 articles, 10 book chapters and 140 abstracts, and has presented at numerous national meetings.
