Gerald V. Naccarelli, MD, FHRS

    Gerald V. Naccarelli, MD, is Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Cardiology at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine/Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He has been a faculty at Hershey since 1995.

    Dr. Naccarelli received his B.S. in Biology from St. Joseph's University, his M.D. degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and continued his Internal Medicine Residency training at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Bowman Gray School of Medicine. He was a Fellow in Cardiology and Chief Resident in Medicine at the Penn State University College of Medicine and an UPSHS postdoctoral Fellow in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He was the Director of Clinical Electrophysiology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston from 1981-1995. He has chaired and been a member of numerous committees for the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology/Heart Rhythm Society (NASPE/HRS). He is a past member of the American College of Cardiology Board of Trustees and a past-president of HRS and the Association of the Professors of Cardiology. He has completed terms on the ABIM Subspecialty Board on Cardiovascular Diseases and as a member of CMS's APC (Ambulatory Payment Classification) Advisory Panel.

    Dr. Naccarelli is listed in America's Top Doctors, the Best Doctors of America and the Best Doctors in America. He is a recipient of the American Heart Association Paul Dudley White Award and the Nycomed Amersham Award for Leadership from the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators.

    He has served as a consultant to over 20 companies in medical industry and has been an investigator in dozens of industry and NIH Multicenter trials. He is currently on the steering committee of 3 major multicenter trials. He is the author or co-author of over 400 papers, chapters, articles and abstracts. He currently serves on the editorial boards of 8 journals in cardiology.
