Gary lives in Troy, Michigan and was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2011. He has practiced law for the past 35 years and has always been involved in charitable and community activities, including the boards of two catholic high schools and several local charities. Although he has lost both his mother and grandfather to the disease of pulmonary fibrosis, Gary is very optimistic about modern medicine finding an effective treatment for the disease. He is the facilitator for an IPF support group and has established very close contacts with all three of the lung transplantation facilities in Michigan. In his spare time, he restores classic automobiles.
