Dr. Elizabeth Pector is a family physician with 20-plus years experience in Naperville, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. She earned her medical degree from University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and served a three-year residency at West Suburban Hospital Medical Center in Oak Park, Illinois. After 14 years working in group practices, she founded her current Spectrum Family Medicine practice in 2001 and now employs another physician and a part-time nurse practitioner. Dr. Pector was one of eight finalists for the Illinois Family Physician of the Year award in 2008. In addition to practicing medicine, she is interested in practice management, electronic health records and Internet applications in health care, and medical writing. A fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Pector is on the editorial board of Medical Economics magazine and also serves on non-profit advisory boards: she is the vice president of development for the National Perinatal Association. She is also a member of the medical advisory board for Mothers of Supertwins (MOST) and a member-at-large for the executive committee of the International Society of Mental Health Online.
