Edward Kim, MD

    Dr. Kim is an assistant Professor in the Department of Thoracic/Head and neck Medical Oncology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  He also holds the position of Co-Director of Educational Programs at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

    Dr. Kim received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, in 1992, and also received his medical degree from Northwestern in 1996.  Dr. obtained his intern-residency in internal medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, 1996-1999.  Further, Dr. Kim completed his fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, in oncology from 1999-2001. 

    Dr. Kim is a member of numerous associations and societies including, The American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Southwest Oncology Group, and The Texas Medical Society.  Dr. Kim is also the recipient of several awards including the Young Investigators Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology in 2002, Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology 2002 and the Scholar in Training Award from the American Association for Cancer Research 2002.

    Dr. Kim studies novel targeted agents in the treatment and prevention settings and has expertise in lung, head and neck as well as thymic cancers.
