Dr. Donald Meyer is an adult, consultation liaison and forensic psychiatrist and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, serving at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Mount Auburn Hospital. He is the psychiatric co-director of two successive integrative care programs deployed by the Mount Auburn Cambridge Independent Practice Association. The first was COMPASS [Care of Mental, Physical and Substance Use Syndromes]. The second which continues into the present is Systematic Case Review. Both programs rely on health care coaches to adjunctively foster chronic disease management and the advice and consultation of a multi-disciplinary team. Dr. Meyer has a long-standing interest in the psychological, social and economic determinants of patient adherence.
