Diann Ackard, PhD
Diann Ackard, PhD

    Dr. Diann Ackard is passionate about helping us be the best that we can be. She is a licensed psychologist in private practice and specializes in the treatment and research of mood and anxiety disturbances, eating disorders and body image disturbances, and traumatic events. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Ackard holds positions as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health at the University of Minnesota, and as Research Scientist at the Eating Disorders Institute at Methodist Hospital, St Louis Park. Dr. Ackard regularly publishes articles in peer-reviewed journals, collaboratively authors book chapters, and frequently presents at local, national, and international meetings and conferences including radio and television interviews. She is a Principal Investigator on several research grants in the areas of eating disorders treatment and outcome. Dr. Ackard most recently published an eBook entitled “Tips for Finding a Therapist That is a Good Fit for You” for the National Register of Health Services Providers in Psychology. Dr. Ackard earned her PhD from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio and completed her predoctoral and postdoctoral internships, respectively, at Yale University School of Medicine and the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Minnesota.
