Davida F. Kruger, MSN, APN-BC, BC-ADM, is a certified nurse practitioner in diabetes at Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, Michigan. She is involved in clinical practice and research.

Ms Kruger received a master of science in nursing from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in primary care and advanced diabetes management.

Ms Kruger has been a principal investigator on numerous research projects and has written widely on diabetes care. She is the author of The Diabetes Travel Guide, 2nd edition, and has been a contributing author of several chapters published in medical texts, including Complete Nurse's Guide to Diabetes Care and The Cadre Handbook of Diabetes Care. Ms Kruger's work has been published in medical journals such as Clinical Diabetes, Diabetes, The Diabetes Educator, and Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She also serves as editor-in-chief of Diabetes Spectrum.

She is past chair of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) research foundation and has served on the ADA research policy committee. Ms Kruger is also past president of healthcare and education at the ADA. She is the recipient of the Florence Nightingale Award for excellence in research, the Rachmiel Levine Award for distinguished service, the Award for Outstanding Service in Diabetes Research Funding, and the Wendell Mayes Award from the ADA.
