Dr. David B. Troxel is medical director of the Doctors Company, the nation's largest physician-owned medical malpractice insurance company, and serves on the iHealthAlliance board of directors. He also practiced pathology for 35 years in Concord, California, where he served as president of the medical staff at Mt. Diablo Medical Center from 1977 to 1978, and was a member of the John Muir/Mt. Diablo Health System board from 1997 through 2000. He is also clinical professor emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley. He was a trustee of the American Board of Pathology from 1994 to 2003 and served as board president in 2002.

Dr. Troxel has published widely on risk management issues and speaks to state and national medical groups on a variety of these topics. His undergraduate and medical degrees are both from Northwestern University and he received his residency training in surgical pathology at the Mayo Clinic. He became board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology in 1968.
