David Piccioni, MD, PhD, is a board-certified neuro-oncologist, and associate professor in the Department of Neurosciences at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Piccioni is the Clinical Director of Neuro-Oncology and conducts clinical trials in primary brain tumors. His primary focus is translating discoveries into novel treatments and clinical trials, and determining markers of treatment response. He focuses on molecular and genetic profiling of individual tumors and using this knowledge to develop personalized medicine. Dr. Piccioni earned his medical degree and a doctoral degree in neuroscience at the State University of New York at Buffalo. His post-doctoral training included a neurology residency at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), as well as fellowships in clinical pharmacology and neuro-oncology, also at UCLA.
