David L. Bell, MD, MPH is an adolescent medicine physician. Dr. Bell is the Medical Director of the Family Planning Program that includes the Young Men's Clinic, a unique adjunct to New York Presbyterian Hospital's Family Planning Clinic. Since 1999, Dr. Bell has been Medical Director of the Young Men's Clinic. In that capacity, he delivers primary care to adolescent and young adults males and is a strong advocate for the right of young men to have access to high quality and respectful services that address the issues relevant to adolescent and young men, which includes attention to their sexual and reproductive health. Dr. Bell is active locally, nationally, and internationally. He advises and teaches medical students, residents, and public health students. He lectures and leads workshops nationally on young men's health issues. He is part of a team from the Department of Pediatrics fostering improved care for adolescents in Uganda. He served on Mayor Bloomberg's Young Men's Initiative Advisory Board. He has also served as a consultant for the Federal Office of Population Affairs and the Pan American Health Organization. Dr. Bell has received several honors, including Castle Connolly's Top Doctors: New York Metro Area, MSNBC's "theGrio's 100", Mentor of the Year; and NYPH Physician of the Year. Dr. Bell has been featured on MTV, BET, CBS, NPR, and National Geographic Taboo.
