Craig Wargon, DPM
Craig Wargon, DPM

    Dr. Craig Wargon is a practicing physician in the division of podiatric surgery in the department of orthopedics at the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center in Northern California. He is also a member of the Northern California Technology Group of The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG).

    Dr. Wargon received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychobiology from the University California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1977, and went on to obtain his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1984. Dr. Wargon completed his residency in podiatric surgery at Kaiser Santa Clara and Vallejo in 1986.

    Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Wargon was selected to participate in a traveling fellowship where he spent four months at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel, sharing American foot surgical techniques with orthopedic surgeons from Israel.

    Dr. Wargon has authored several scientific articles published in medical journals and has written several chapters for medical textbooks. In the past he has lectured on the subjects of foot diseases and sports-related foot and ankle injuries. He periodically serves as an exam commissioner for California State Board of Podiatric Medicine. Several times per year he travels to Washington, DC, to serve on an exam writing committee for the National Board of Podiatric Examiners. His administrative/technical work for Kaiser Permanente has focused on three major areas: interactive clinical consulting (eConsult), electronic documentation of medical records, eChart and the creation of personal physician Web pages for Kaiser Permanente physicians in Northern California.
