Cpt. Timothy Harrelson is a staff family practice physician assistant at Misawa Air Base in Japan.
Cpt. Harrelson was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. After graduating from high school in Jacksonville, Florida, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served for 10 years as a cryptologic linguist journeyman and intelligence analyst at Fort Meade, Maryland, and Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, until he was accepted to the military's Tri-service Intraservice Physician Assistant Program. Two years later, he was recognized as an Honor Graduate from that program and was then commissioned as a 2Lt in the Air Force. Then next year he graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Master's of Physician Assistant Studies with a focus in Family Practice. As a physician assistant he has been assigned to Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas; Seymoure Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina; and Misawa Air Force Base in Japan. During his tour in Japan, he was deployed to Qalat, Afghanistan. Cpt. Harrelson earned a Bronze Star for his efforts in Afghanistan in 2008.
