Dr. Barry Sarvet is the chief of child and adolescent psychiatry at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts and a member of the faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine. He is the co-medical director for the Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project, an innovative statewide system for providing child psychiatry consultation to primary care providers throughout the state of Massachusetts. His special interest is in the area of collaboration between primary care providers and child psychiatrists, and coordination of care for children with mental health problems. With his collaborators in the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics, he has helped to develop strategies and policies for improving access to care for children with mental health issues.
