Allan T. Luskin, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He also has a full-time clinical practice at Dean Medical Center in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, where he directs the Center for Respiratory Health, a referral source for patients with recalcitrant and severe lung disorders.
Dr. Luskin has served on the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's (NHLBI) National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Coordinating Committee and on its Executive and Long-Range Planning Subcommittees, as well as co-chaired the Professional, Patient, and Public Education Subcommittee and the Managed Care Subcommittee. He also chaired the Asthma in Pregnancy Working Group of the NHLBI, which developed the Treatment of Asthma in Pregnancy guidelines and he is a recipient of the NHLBI Exemplary Service Award. Dr. Luskin is a member of the American Medical Association's Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement: Asthma Work Group, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations' Asthma Expert Panel, the National Commission on Quality Assurance HEDIS Respiratory Measurement Advisory Panel, and is the clinical asthma advisor for the Drug Effectiveness Review Project. He is also a member of the select Joint Task Force on Asthma Quality Measures and the Joint Task Force on Pay-for-Performance.
Dr. Luskin established and directed The Allergy/Immunology Training Program at Rush Medical College in Chicago. He is a past Vice-President and Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and is a recipient of its Distinguished Service Award. His research focuses on clinical and economic outcomes management in asthma and allergic diseases. Dr. Luskin is Director of HealthyAirways, a consulting group specializing in education and management of obstructive and allergic airways disorders, and Clinical and Outcomes Advisor to Strategic Pharmaceutical Advisors, a strategic and tactical advisory group.
