Dr. Abraham Katzir is the Carol and Mel Taub Chair in Applied Medical Physics at Tel Aviv University, School of Physics and Astronomy. Under Dr. Katzir, the Applied Physics Group at Tel Aviv University has been involved for more than 10 years in research and development of devices, such as lasers, electro-optical systems and optical fibers, that operate in the mid-IR.
Dr. Katzir received his doctorate in physics at the Hebrew University and completed a Fulbright-Hayes fellowship at California Institute of Technology. Dr. Katzir has published over 200 scientific papers in refereed journals and more than 100 papers on conference proceedings. He has authored several books, including Lasers and Optical Fibers in Medicine (1993) and Optical Fibers in Medicine (1990).
