Stand Up To Cancer

Series Description

Stand Up To Cancer is an innovative approach to research designed to bring together the best and brightest investigators from leading institutions around the world.  This unique initiative, which is designed to foster scientific collaboration and accelerate the discovery of new therapies, is being administered by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).

As a lead-in to the live simulcast, ReachMD XM 160 broadcast exclusive interviews especially for physicians, nurses, and their patients to hear plans for cancer research utilizing this innovative research grant program. The interviews feature Nobel Laureate Dr. Phillip A. Sharp, Institute Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, and chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee, and Dr. Raymond N. DuBois, provost and executive vice president of University of Texas’ M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

In a continuing partnership following the event broadcast, ReachMD is reporting on the progress made by the innovative Stand Up To Cancer research model and their scientists to see how this effort is paying dividends in the research and academic community.
